Eddy has extensive experience in global information technology and logistics. He finished undergraduate from the University of Tennessee and graduate program in Computer Science from California State University.
Manufacturing Experiences: Eddy gained valuable expertise in production, quality control, and supply chain integration while working at Forecast Lighting and later at Ciba-Geigy Composite Material in California where he worked with MRP and learnt all phase of supply-chain cost controlled. His passion has always been focused on automating manual processes and integrating them into efficient, scalable system, early in his career.
Technology ventures: In 1993, Eddy working together with Cogent Systems in Alhambra, California, where he led his team in securing a competitive bidding-victory over IBM and NEC for the Automated Fingerprint System (AFIS) project with the Royal Thai Police in 1995. His entrepreneurial spirit then led him to form Media Point Corporation in Alhambra in 1996. There, he developed ZipComm, a data and fax software that became widely used as a communication protocol in early smartphones. Eventually, MediaPoint was acquired by Sungwoon Co., LTD of South Korea.
Logistics ventures: In 2001, he initiated and established a logistics center in Indonesia, representing DHL Express Logistics for their first business operations in the country. This venture became one of the premier logistics companies in Indonesia, offering integrated international transportation-courier and warehouse services. He developed an intranet-based on dial-up technology, connecting sales-marketing with automated operation-accounting system. This innovation allowed sales personnel to input new incoming orders without the need for physical office to deliver sales orders.
Mining ventures: In 2008, Eddy took a break from technology and logistics and ventured into the mining industry in East and Central Kalimantan, managing coal and silica mining operations. He continued this role until 2015 when the majority of his shares were acquired by Nature Element Hong Kong. This experience was invaluable in teaching him how to manage relationships with indigenous communities and government officials, enhancing his skills in building effective communication and interactions.
Air cargo ventures: In 2016, Eddy and a group of friends established an air cargo business network in collaboration with a start-up budget airline in Thailand. He played a key role in building partnerships across Southeast Asia, including countries such as Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Myanmar, Japan, China, and Taiwan. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic significantly slowed business activities.
Mahyu, platform logistics ventures: Leveraging his deep expertise in both internet technology and practical logistics operations, Eddy realized the importance of transforming logistics from a conventional offline and sequential model into an efficient online platform. This insight laid the foundation for his next steps in revolutionizing the logistics sector. As the logistics landscape evolves, the limitations of traditional practices become more evident, underscoring the need for digital transformation to remain competitive and sustainable.
Development processed: In 2019, he started developing a design and structured flow, the missing gaps in logistics-supply chain industry by introducing a platform business model. Mahyu’s open, scalable, cloud-based platform connects transporters, forwarders, and shippers—both businesses and individuals—under one integrated system. It consolidates various logistics services, including domestic land transport, international air transport, eCommerce logistics, and warehouse services, into a single platform, allowing shippers to conduct business transactions with transporters in real time.
His primary emphasis was on the digitization of paper documents and the transformation of various logistics operation functions, back-office administration and financial procedures controlled and driven by algorithm. This process enhances data accessibility and accuracy but also enables real-time updates and streamlined workflows.
Implementing new opportunity: He recognizes an opportunity to redeploy Mahyu’s intellectual structures, algorithmic processes, and configuration manipulations to optimize the Group Travel Industry. he immediately starts design and structure a beonetravel.com as a group travel platform infrastructure with a cloud platform technology to monetize a wide array of tourism activities in for Asia and European regions.
Beone’s technology structures mirrors to Mahyu’s, an open-system. It involves close collaboration with SME-Traditional Travel Agents and key service providers, including accommodation, air & inland transport, and travel program suppliers, to offer an unparalleled Group-Online Travel Experience. This comprehensive approach not only expands our service offerings but also positions Beone as a leader in specialized group travel markets.
Dynamic: He recognizes that Mahyu’s meticulous approach had laid the foundation for a new frontier, showcasing how a flexible platform technology could address diverse industry needs by applying similar structures to optimize business processes and succeed in real-time environments. His leadership, combined with strong analytical skills and an intuitive knack for solving complex problems in both technology and supply chains, has been instrumental in steering his young team through the development processed.
